Three Rivers' President and Chairman of the Board Dan Kozakiewicz Named as 2009 JA Business Hall of Fame Laureate

MIDLAND, MICH - Dan Kozakiewicz, President and Chairman of the Board of Three Rivers Corporation, was inducted into the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame on October 28 at the H Hotel in Midland.

The JA Business Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding business leaders who have demonstrated excellence through their contributions, not only to the business world, but also to their communities. Honorees, nominated by members of the community, are elected for induction into the Hall of Fame by a consensus of past laureates. "The 2009 laureates truly epitomize the essence of Junior Achievement; free enterprise, ingenuity and entrepreneurship. They have unselfishly shared their individual successes and talents to enhance the quality of life in Midland and the surrounding areas. We are fortunate to have such giving leaders in our community to serve as role models for our youth." said Mike Rush, president of Junior Achievement of Central Michigan.

Dan is President and Chairman of the Board of Three Rivers Corporation. He joined Three Rivers in 1986 as an estimator and advanced through the ranks of the company assuming his current position in 2001. He is responsible for establishing overall corporate objectives, insuring profitable growth and fulfilling the company’s commitment to its customers and the community.

Kozakiewicz serves in a number of civic and business leadership roles including serving as President of the Board of The Boy Scouts of America, Lake Huron Area Council. He is a board member and past chairman of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Michigan and ABC’s Saginaw Valley Chapter. He serves on the board of Tri Star Trust Bank, Midland Tomorrow, MidMichigan Urgent Care and The Saginaw Diocese Building Commission. He is a member of the Ferris State University Construction Management Advisory Board and a past member of Saginaw Valley University’s School of Business and Management Advisory Board. He also has served for nine years on The City of Midland Planning Commission.

Kozakiewicz has been recognized by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Michigan for Outstanding Leadership in 2008 and by the Midland Morning Rotary Club with a Certificate of Appreciation, Outstanding Leadership and Achievement in the Field of Vocational Education. He has also completed Leadership Midland, Leadership Michigan and The Great Lakes Bay Regional Leadership Institute.

Kozakiewicz and his wife Sarah are active members of Blessed Sacrament Church. They have four children.
