Daniel Kozakiewicz Elected Chairman of the ABC of Michigan Board of Directors

Daniel Kozakiewicz, president of Three Rivers Corporation in Midland, has been elected Chair of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Michigan (ABC) Board of Directors. Kozakiewicz succeeds 2007 Board Chair James Struble, President of RCI Electric in Farmington Hills, who will continue his service on the ABC board. The announcement came following the annual meeting of ABC.

Associated Builders and Contractors of Michigan is a Lansing-based statewide trade association representing general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and related firms across Michigan. ABC is devoted to the advancement of the merit shop construction philosophy which encourages open competition and a free enterprise approach that awards contracts based on merit regardless of labor affiliation. ABC is recognized as one of the leading organizations representing America’s business community and the construction industry. It is the construction industry's voice with the local, state and federal government and provides services such as legal advocacy, education, safety awareness, communications, technology, employee benefits, and business development.

“I am honored to serve as the 2009 Chair of ABC of Michigan,” Kozakiewicz said. “ABC has a long tradition of leading our industry and I look forward to advancing the association’s commitment to business development, government relations and member services.”

Kozakiewicz is a graduate of Ferris State University and Lawrence Technological University, with degrees in construction engineering and technology. He has also served as chairman of the board of directors for the Saginaw Valley Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors and on the board of directors for Midland Tomorrow, the Contractors Owners Safety Team, the Ferris State University Construction and Technology Management Committee, the College of Business and Management Advisory Board at Saginaw Valley State University the Midland Planning Commission, the Diocese of Saginaw Building Commission and the Lake Huron Council of Boy Scouts of America.

Kozakiewicz joined the board in 2004 and was the 2007 Vice President. Kozakiewicz is a 30-year construction industry leader and has been with Three Rivers since 1986. Three Rivers Corporation is a full service general contractor and design/build company specializing in institutional facilities, commercial and industrial construction, mechanical contracting, process piping, and building maintenance services.

Dan and his wife, Sarah, have been married for 27 years and have four children, two girls and two boys. The Kozakiewicz’s reside in Midland.
