Green Building Corporate Statement
At Three Rivers Corporation, we believe that we are stewards of our planet and its environment. We have a responsibility as construction professionals to ensure the health of people by providing buildings and projects that are environmental responsible. The green revolution of the past several years has thrust the construction industry into the forefront of sustainable building. Our leadership has an obligation to protect and preserve the environment while projects are under construction as well as providing solutions to how projects will impact the environment over their life.
We are committed to following the tenants of green building as outlined by various agencies committed to green building such as The United State Green Building Council (USGBC) of which Three Rivers Corporation is a member. We also participate in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Green Building Rating System™. LEED® does not reinvent the construction process–it is a collection of best practices. Our people are also accredited as LEED® Professionals.
Several best practices we employ on projects are:
- Establish green goals early in the building process
- Promote material reuse and recycling
- Ensure indoor air quality during construction
- Develop waste management plans
Throughout the design and construction phase, we evaluate each building system and clarify the relationship between desired environmental goals and their impact on the project's budget and life-cycle costs.
